Nilo developed a passion for producing as a youth in Gothenburg, Sweden. She got her feet wet organizing parties, live music shows and dance battles. The most memorable was being part of the organizing team for the inaugural years of “Just Move it”, an annual city-wide dance competition that culminated in a final showcase in the Gothenburg Concert Hall.
In 2010, she was accepted into a one-year program focusing on Hip Hop culture, feminist studies, and event organizing. The following summer, she was chosen to be part of a summer program working with producing a new VIP area for one of the leading music festivals in Europe, Way Out West. Her efforts led to the opportunity the following year to work with brand experience company Grandins Flying Circus in overseeing the various installations on the festival grounds.
Following her move to the Bay Area, Nilo became the Event Manager for a dance studio in San Jose, while she also took the lead in organizing the very popular First Thursday Open Mic at De Anza College. She later became the House Manager at The Depot, the music venue at SFSU and was lead in the production team for the annual Rhythms Music Festival, featuring artists such as Kehlani and Vince Staples.
In recent years, she has done work with Oakland Art & Soul & Hiero Day music festivals as Artist Hospitality Assistant, and Artist Liaison respectively. She was also the Production Manager at Impact Hub Oakland 2017-2019, and assisted in the development of the growing Events department.
